October 2006 Sheffield International Railfreight Terminal (SIRFT) started
At SIRFT, PCP Architects working with developers Helioslough, have secured detailed planning permission for 870,000 sq ft of high bay distribution space, all with dedicated rail sidings.
The scheme consists of three distribution centres with office facilities which utilise the site's excellent road and rail connections. This integration meets with current Government strategy to reduce congestion and pollution by distributing through the Railfreight network.
Key benefits of the scheme are:
Close to Junction 33 and 34 of the M1
Highly visible and strategically located site
Developed in partnership with English, Welsh and Scottish Railway, it can provide occupiers with full railfreight services
Buildings for occupation in 2007
